About Our Soap

About Our Handmade Soap

At Broadmeadow Farm, we make handmade, cold-pressed soap in small batches on our family farm in Carstairs, Alberta. Each bar is created with simple ingredients and designed to be used every day — not just sit on a shelf.

Why Our Soap Is Different

Our approach is simple: make soap that feels good to use, smells incredible, and doesn’t dry out your skin.

Every bar is:

  • Made in small batches
  • Crafted with carefully chosen ingredients
  • Designed for everyday use
  • Created right here on our Alberta farm

Why I Started Making Soap

I started making soap because I couldn’t find products that truly worked with my skin — everything felt too harsh, too drying, or just not enjoyable to use day to day. I wanted something simple, effective, and comfortable to use every day without having to think twice about it.

What began as a small experiment has grown into a core part of our farm, where every batch is still made by hand with that same intention.

Rooted on Our Farm

Our soap is made on the same farm where we grow plants each spring in our greenhouse. That connection to the land shapes how we work — with care, attention, and a focus on simple, seasonal living.

Made for Real Use

These are not decorative bars — they’re made to be used and enjoyed every day. Whether you’re looking for a gentle everyday soap or something that smells amazing without being overpowering, our bars are designed to fit into your routine.

Our soaps are formulated to be gentle and moisturizing, making them suitable for most skin types including sensitive skin. However, we recommend checking the ingredient list if you have specific allergies.

Store your soap in a dry, well-ventilated area between uses. Use a soap dish with drainage to help your bar last longer. Keep it away from direct water spray in the shower.

Our handmade soaps have a shelf life of approximately 12 months when stored properly in a cool, dry place. The scent may fade over time, but the soap remains effective and safe to use.
