About Heidi & Broad Meadow Farm
Hi, I’m Heidi — gardener, maker, and founder of Broad Meadow Farm.
For over 20 years, I’ve grown everything from vegetables to hardy perennials. What began in commercial greenhouses has found its true home here on our small farm near Carstairs, Alberta. It’s where I grow vibrant plants in the spring and handcraft small-batch soap year-round — a blend of beauty, purpose, and practicality that reflects my love for both the land and the people who shop here.
From Greenhouse to Soap Studio
My soapmaking journey started with a simple need: I couldn’t find products gentle enough for my sensitive skin. So I created my own.
What began as a personal project has become an important part of my work. Each bar is made in small batches right here in my soap studio, using clean ingredients, no synthetic fragrances, and time-honoured techniques. Some are lightly scented with essential oils; others are unscented for those who prefer simplicity.
Just like my plants, every product I make has a purpose — and a personal touch.
